Moon Jar, Korean White Porcelain Vase, Blue Peonies, Gold, by Park Sun-Young
A spectacular "Moon Jar" vase in the pure Korean tradition, made of immaculate white porcelain on which delicate blue peonies are hand-drawn and painted, highlighted with gold. This magnificent piece is the work of Park Sun-young, an artist based in Icheon, south of Seoul, an historical Korean ceramics location. As a potter, she once placed a peony on a piece and since then these flowers have become her life. She works in the Korean craft tradition of white and blue porcelain, creating contrasts of immense poetry.
Moon Jars are white porcelains with an organic round shape specific to Korea, a strong cultural heritage that continues to inspire today's artisans.
Please note that this is a unique piece.
