A guide in French to Kyoto's crafts and design addresses
Be aware that this guide is in French
Kyoto, the breathtaking richness of its crafts, its workshops, its masters of art and the excitement of its stores.
Because yes, going on a trip and shopping can be a meaningful moment, which participates in the experience in a way that may be even more personal because the objects brought back are so many small pebbles that will mark the path of memory for a long time.
For each card in this special kind of guide, there is a photo that tells something about Kyoto, like a journey without words, and an address selected from among our favorites, to discover the city through its crafts, whether traditional or contemporary, confidential or very established, art or everyday.
This guide contains 25 cards printed on 350g paper Condat Périgord Mat (A6 format), each with a beautiful photo of Kyoto on the front (which is laminated) shot by Laurence, Atelier Ikiwa's founder, and for 24 of them, on the back, focus on a great boutique, its description, its address and the name of its Instagram account. A 25th card allows you to write a message on the back if you want to send this guide to someone. These 25 cards are nested in a pretty blue box slightly glittery, and also includes a brochure with a map. A repositionable printed slip cover holds it all together. It is shipped in its furoshiki made of unbleached cotton or white linen, hand stenciled with Atelier Ikiwa flower symbol.
It is up to each of us to experience this guide according to our preferences: a visual gallery of 25 cards to be framed or offered, a selection of our favorite cards to slip into our suitcase at the time of departure... But always, to be able to dream Kyoto before, during, and after the trip.
A guide imagined and designed by Atelier Ikiwa, with photos and texts by its founder, printed in France as a limited edition.
