Japanese Tablecloth 207x150cm Natural Indigo Dye and Shibori Technique
This spectacular tablecloth has been entirely handmade in Japan: a natural indigo (aizome) dyeing rigorously following rules of this centuries-old tradition, on which extremely sophisticated shibori techniques have been applied The shibori technique allows to create patterns by reserve by knotting and sewing the fabric according to complex methods before dipping it several times in the indigo vat.
This tablecloth is a unique vintage piece that will fit perfectly into a contemporary home environment. As this is a completely handmade craft the patterns are never perfectly identical, creating a remarkable human story.
Please check the dimensions of your table are compatible with those of this tablecloth. It can also be used nicely as a bed / sofa throw, or if your table is larger as an overlay (over a large white tablecloth for example).
