Japanese ceramic plate grey-beige with blue speckles

A beautifully textured, slightly rough and delicately contrasting grey-beige with blue flecks, very flat and with organic irregular edges. This is the work of Koji Takagi, a potter based in Chiba prefecture. To obtain this texture and rendering, the potter worked with black clay and red clay from Shigaraki, to which he added white clay tapped several times with a sponge, and a fine glaze to preserve this rough, slightly heavy appearance.

The result is a precious object for everyday use, to put a small pastry with tea for example, or for decoration, a wabi sabi spirit that will bring all the delicate beauty of Japanese craftsmanship into your home.

CARE INSTRUCTIONSTo be handled with care. Rub gently with a soft cloth and a little water if necessary. No dishwasher, oven, microwave.
