Blue and beige porcelain plate by Yuna Saito

Sale price€75,00

These plates are the result of the encounter between two cultures, Japanese and Korean. The ceramic artist Yuna Saito, Japanese, actually studied ceramics at Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts in Japan, then continued his studies at the University of Science and Technology in Seoul, where she now resides.

The softness of Korean porcelain echoes the inspiration of natural phenomena, an approach deeply rooted in Japanese aesthetics, with works that reflect a sensibility capturing ephemeral beauty.

For this small flat plate (diameter 12cm) Yuna san has used the casting technique to shape his piece, then applied colored liquids that infiltrated and diffused through the material, creating unique patterns. This process, comparable to a "chemical experiment", allows organic and random patterns to emerge on the ceramics. The colors used are in a range of muted blues, beiges and grays, drawing a palette of great elegance.

The plates are signed by the ceramicist at their base. Each piece is unique, so the patterns vary, but the shades remain identical.
